DIRECTIONS:

Eastbound and westbound drivers take Interstate 80’s Soda Springs exit and drive about 4 miles along former Highway 40 to Donner Pass.  From Hwy. 40, east of Donner Ski Ranch, turn onto the road right before Sugar Bowl Ski Academy. Those coming from the west shore of Donner Lake can make a winding climb up Old Hwy 40 to the pass. From the pass continue for approx. 2 miles. Sugar Ski Academy will be on your left where we will meet. The Mt. Judah loop trail is accessed off the Pacific Crest Trail south of old Hwy. 40. The loop is approx. 4.6 miles.

From Interstate 80: 

Exit at the Soda Springs/Van Norden off ramp. Proceed East toward Soda Springs/Van Norden on Old Highway 40 for one mile to a flashing light and turn right onto Soda Springs Rd.

From scenic Old Highway 40: 

Drive along Highway 40 to Soda Springs and at the flashing light turn onto Soda Springs Rd.

DIRECTIONS:

 

From I-80 take 4th Street exit east to Mayberry Lane (south). After crossing the river, turn right (south) on Plateau Road. Follow Plateau up the hill and through a development. After the development, watch for Woodchuck Lane on the right-hand side (south). Turn on Woodchuck and keep going to the end, until you reach the Michael Thompson Trail Head.

DIRECTIONS:

 

From Hwy 267 turn on Soaring Way. Take a left on Joerger Drive, drive for approx. 2.2 miles.  Butterfield Drive on the left, (don’t turn left) park immediately across by the gate. We will hike from here up to the Dam of Dry Lake.
