DIRECTIONS:

From Truckee, proceed West on Donner Pass Road along the North Shore of Donner Lake. As you approach the West end of Donner Lake, go past South Shore Drive and continue up along Old Highway 40 towards Donner Summit. The trail head and parking area is on the left, roughly 1/3 of a mile from South Shore Drive (If you reach the winter closure gate, you have gone too far). You can also hike from Donner Summit down to the parking are. If you do, be sure to park legally near the Pacific Crest Trail trailhead.

DIRECTIONS:

From Truckee, head north on highway 89 for about 15 minutes. You will pass the Emigrant trail – iconic for mountain biking. Continue a couple miles north and you will see a bridge. Just past the bridge, pull off into the dirt parking lot on the right. It is very easy to see where the trailhead begins.

DIRECTIONS:

To reach D.L. Bliss State Park from Tahoe City, take HWY 89 south for 15.8 miles to the park entrance. Follow the park road to the entrance station. We will meet there to enter the park together. It is about 6.5 miles looking down at the cool blue shoreline of magnificent Lake Tahoe and weaving in and out of shaded pine trees.
